An Update Regarding Coronavirus (Covid-19)

Ladera Community Church and the COVID 19 Virus

Recent updates from local county health departments have recommended that people 60 and older avoid gatherings. Our church members even more advanced in age face significant risks and we want to make sure we take appropriate measures as a community. We anticipate that church attendance will fall below the recommended guidelines posted by local health departments.

CATCH US LIVE ON FACEBOOK

To make it easy for those at risk we will be recording worship live on Facebook, starting Sunday at 9:30 am. Click the link on our homepage on Sunday morning, March 15th, to join us. A Facebook account is not required to view. Contact Holly at holly@ladera.org should you have any questions.

CANCELED: THURSDAY LENTEN SOUP SUPPER ON MARCH 12

After discussion among church leaders, we felt that we would opt for less exposure where possible. Few had signed up and several members expressed concern with the intimacy of a shared meal. Given the concerns, we decided to cancel this event.

STILL ON: THE ZINE WORKSHOP ON MARCH 14

We are still planning to meet in Peabody Hall for the Zine Workshop this Saturday from 10am-2pm. Please know that if you are unable to attend the Zine workshop this Saturday, we will be repeating the event in the spring. Stay tuned for future updates!

ATTEND MEETINGS FROM HOME

We have set up a Zoom (phone/video conferencing) account for Church Council and other team/committee meetings for people who cannot attend meetings and who wish to stay home due to health concerns.

MORE CHANGES COULD BE COMING

Please check your email and/or the church calendar online before attending church meetings, events, or worship in the event that circumstances require additional changes.

If an event is canceled or postponed you will receive a notice via email. If you are concerned about your need to attend a meeting and you need accommodation, please check with Pastor Jeff, or Holly, or leave a message with Vanessa in the church office.

We value your participation in all church-related activities and we will do our best to make sure your voice, your vote, your concerns are counted and heard, even if you are unable to attend.

We are grateful to be traveling through this uncertain time together.
