The LCC Council Members have approved a fundraiser, sponsored by the LCC Social Justice Team, and matched through the Westridge Mission Fund.
It is to help the Peninsula Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs purchase laptop computers to increase their students’ access for distance learning. Currently, the Clubs have in-house programs for the students as well as online programs. Many students’ rely on the clubs for wi-fi access. The plan is for the staff to help students complete school assignments through in-clubhouse use.
We’re expecting to raise at least $1500 from both church and community members. This amount will be matched by the Westridge Mission Fund. This commitment is a great chance for all of us to participate in the effort!

About the Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs
The Clubs’ Mission: “To inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as caring, responsible and productive citizens.”
According to their impact report, “92 percent are of minority races and 93 percent qualify for free or reduced lunch.”
During the past year a half, LCC member, Kyle Barriger, taught math at the RWC branch and Linda Fenn taught reading at the San Mateo clubhouse. They both feel uplifted by their volunteer work there.
