During this Red Sulphur workshop, you will be invited to create a zine (a mini-magazine) to express your thoughts and feelings about a particular topic or experience. LCC members, friends, and guests are welcome. No artistic experience necessary. All it takes is an open mind and a willingness to work with materials like scissors, magazines, a variety of papers, glue sticks, stickers, pens, markers, and if you’d like, an old-fashioned typewriter!

Using words, images, drawings and/or cutouts, your zine will reflect a part of who you are and the journey that you have travelled. By witnessing and sharing our stories with one another in a sacred space, we allow ourselves to be seen, heard, and loved. This can be a profoundly healing process for individuals and communities.

Ideas for your zine:

  • Share part of your life story
  • People, places, and/or things that make you feel happy
  • Who are you? What are the facets of your personality? What are your superpowers?
  • What are you like when you’re functioning from your highest, most powerful self?

Feel free to bring cutouts or copies of photographs you may wish to include in your zine. All other materials will be provided.
