Jeff grew up in St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church in Titusville, Florida. Soon after graduating from the University of Florida, Jeff joined the United Church of Gainesville (UCC) in 1977, and has been connected with the UCC since. Jeff’s spiritual journey began at a Christmas party when he was 19 when Rev. Jack Horton, a deacon at St. Gabriel’s asked this question: “What does it mean to you when I say, ‘God loves you’?”
He has studied Transcendental Meditation and many other spiritual traditions like Hinduism, Judaism, Islamic mysticism and Buddhism. His experiences and his training have led to an inclusive and welcoming theology that is grounded in the revelation of God in Jesus Christ.
Jeff received his BS from the University of Florida, an MFA from Goddard College and his M.Div. from Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, CA.
