Sam joined the staff in November 2013. He is a Bay Area native, who grew up with music study and performance as his first love. In college his studies turned to Physical Therapy and he became licensed in 1996. However, Sam continued with music, studying composition and performance with Anna Pecluwski of Poland, who had immigrated to the US. Even working as a physical therapist, Sam continued to compose and study piano as a hobby. He was introduced to the world of theater when in 2006 he had a chance to work with Mission City Opera as an accompanist for their production of Carmen.

That production led to Sam’s love of musical theater. Since then, he has worked with many theaters in the Bay Area from The Gilbert and Sullivan Society of San Jose (also known as “Lyric Theatre”) to Woodside Theatre, South Bay Musical Theater, West Valley Light Opera, City Lights theater, San Jose Rep and Broadway by the Bay. Sam is currently Staff Accompanist to the Theater Department at Santa Clara University, where he has been music director for several shows and has conducted from the keyboard. Recently, Sam was music director, vocal director and conductor for Broadway by the Bay’s production of Oliver, Sunnyvale’s Zombie Prom directing and conducting from the keyboard, SBMT’s Les Miserables and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Woodside High’s Producers, and Bellarmine High’s Hairspray. Sam lives in San Jose.
