Second Hour Discussion: The Forest for the Trees: Saving Nature’s First, Best Climate Solution!
April 21 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
As climate change accelerates, many new innovations are coming to the fore, from solar energy to heat pumps to geo-engineering interventions. But one of the most vital solutions of all is also the most ancient: trees. Together, the world’s forests sequester 7.6 billion metric tons of carbon per year—1.5 times what the U.S. emits annually—while cleaning the air and protecting biodiversity. Unfortunately, forests are being destroyed at an alarming rate to produce the products we consume, from beef and dairy products to chocolate to toilet paper.
Join us for worship and second hour on Earth Sunday, April 21, to celebrate the power and majesty of mature trees—nature’s first, best climate solution—and learn what YOU can do to help protect them.
