Helping Our Neighbors During the CalFresh Benefit Delays
Many families in our community are facing unexpected hardship due to the ongoing federal shutdown. As of November 1, an estimated 168,000 neighbors in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties are experiencing delayed CalFresh (SNAP) benefits, making it difficult for many families to access the food they need.
Ladera Community Church will be collecting donations to support local families affected by this disruption. Together, we can help ensure our neighbors continue to have food on the table.
How You Can Help:
- Give online to support food purchases and direct assistance ( ladera.org/give → “Special Programs” → write “Second Harvest Food Drive” in the notes section)
- Check: write a check to Ladera Community Church with “Second Harvest Food Drive” in the memo
- Share this flyer with friends, neighbors, and community groups
Together, we can help our neighbors through this challenging time
Standing with our neighbors through the shutdown: Second Harvest will continue to support families during the government shutdown by providing free, nutritious groceries and ready-to-eat meals to those in need. Serving approximately 500,000 people every month across 900 food pickup sites, Second Harvest of Silicon Valley operates at an impressive scale!
