The evenly split collections will go to Puente de la Costa Sur in Pescadero and Friends of the Four Homes of Mercy in Palestine. Both have a great need for financial support in these times of upheaval.        \nSpotlight on Friends of the Four Homes of Mercy \nThis fall\, the Social Justice Team of the Ladera Community Church invited Liz Mulford\, the Director of Friends of the Four Homes of Mercy\, a Cupertino-based nonprofit supporting a remarkable care facility in Palestine. The Four Homes of Mercy is the first in the region to provide 24/7 short-term\, long-term\, and respite care—including rehabilitation\, for individuals with severe physical and neurological disabilities\, from age 4 through old age. Families contribute only 6% of the cost of care\, making this a vital refuge for those with nowhere else to turn. \nDuring her visit\, the Director shared a pressing need: help with the organization’s website and social media presence\, especially Facebook. DESCRIPTION:Join us for “Reflections for These Times\,” a nurturing space for connection and stillness. Each session opens with a Tai Chi prayer\, followed by time to check in\, lighting a candle for our shared concerns and hopes\, and silent meditation. We close in peaceful silence. \nAfter these 30 minutes of connection and quiet\, we will enjoy snacks and conversation in the fellowship hall.  This program will be held on the first and third Wednesdays of each month—join us whenever you need grounding and community.

DESCRIPTION:Modern square dancing is a recreation enjoyed by people of all ages in the United States and around the world.  We dance the Plus program utilizing All Position Dancing.  We often have an A2 or C1 star tip at the end of the evening.  All Plus dancers are welcome to join us for an evening of dancing.  Square dance attire is not needed.  Masks are optional. \n\nThe weekly schedule is:\n       Review: 6:00-6:30 pm\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n       Class: 6:30-8:30 pm\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n       Plus: 8:30-9:00 pm\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n       Star tips: 9:00-9:30 pm \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe cost is $10 per session.  We start a beginner’s class every fall in October.

DESCRIPTION:The holiday season is a time for giving\, and Ladera Community Church (LCC) is once again partnering with LifeMoves to bring warmth and joy to the residents of the Navigation Center. In addition to our monthly lunch service\, we will be delivering gift baskets for the residents and singing Christmas carols. Join us in Peabody Hall at 10:30 a.m. to help prepare the baskets\, and meet us at the Navigation Center  at 11:30 a.m. if you’d like to help serve lunch and sing carols*. \nThis December\, we’re launching a special holiday collection for the gift baskets. These baskets include essentials like socks\, hats\, gloves\, and gift cards\, offering both comfort and dignity during the colder months. Every dollar raised goes directly toward these gifts. Our goal is to provide 80 gift baskets at $50 per basket. Let’s come together to make this season brighter for our neighbors in need. Want to contribute?
