DESCRIPTION:The Ladera Creative Arts Program utilizes the creative arts to provide elementary through high-school aged children with the spiritual and psychological tools to help them live a whole\, healthy life. Zine-making and book arts are the primary creative modalities used for this program. Zines (pronounced “zeens”) are self-published booklets\, often made by cutting and gluing text and images together (similar to making a collage). Zines have a particular appeal in that they engage children in a creative process that utilizes the art of storytelling to deepen the child’s sense of self and to connect with others. Making zines requires no previous experience or skill level. \nThis is a non-religious\, creative arts program. Children from all faiths (or no faith) are welcome and celebrated!

DESCRIPTION:Ladera Community Church is hosting another Styrofoam Recycling Drive from January 8 – 11! Drop off CLEAN\, WHITE\, and firm block Styrofoam. We cannot accept (or recycle) dirty Styrofoam or Styrofoam with other materials attached to it\, like paper\, tape\, or aluminum. We cannot recycle bubble wrap\, foam wrapping sheets\, or foam that is squishy. \nWe will fill a rental moving truck on Friday\, January 13\, 2023\, and take the Styrofoam to the Newby Island Resource Recovery Park in Milpitas. We welcome help loading the truck at 10 a.m. and donations to offset the cost of the truck.

SUMMARY:Ladera Creative Arts Program for Children
DESCRIPTION:The Ladera Creative Arts Program utilizes the creative arts to provide elementary through high-school aged children with the spiritual and psychological tools to help them live a whole\, healthy life. Zine-making and book arts are the primary creative modalities used for this program. Zines (pronounced “zeens”) are self-published booklets\, often made by cutting and gluing text and images together (similar to making a collage). Zines have a particular appeal in that they engage children in a creative process that utilizes the art of storytelling to deepen the child’s sense of self and to connect with others. Making zines requires no previous experience or skill level. \nThis is a non-religious\, creative arts program. Children from all faiths (or no faith) are welcome and celebrated!

DESCRIPTION:Worship is the heart of our community life. Sunday worship begins at 9:30 a.m. in the sanctuary and online via Zoom and Facebook. All ages are invited. LCC worship is a joyful celebration of God’s presence among us. We find inspiration\, renewal\, and refreshment through song and silence\, prayer\, and reflection. We seek to integrate the arts – music\, drama\, and visual – to enrich the worship experience. Worship continues in the many ways we seek\, serve\, and grow in the world. \n\nWe serve communion on the first Sunday of every month. All are welcome to the table!\nOn the second Sunday of each month\, Pastor Jeff has a conversation with someone from our community about their life and faith journey.
