Articles & Events Submission Guidelines

We are so glad you have news and events to share! The information below is for all publications, (weekly email, monthly newsletter, Sunday bulletin), social media, the website, and community outreach notices. 

When submitting an article or announcement, information should be included in the body of the e-mail and/or in an attached Microsoft Word document (no other format or PDFs). Final drafts only, please.  While every effort is made to preserve the author’s (or authors’) style, the LCC staff reserves the right to edit all submissions. Please include the title of your article or announcement in the subject line of the email. 

Submission Deadlines

  • Weekly Update / Sunday Announcement / Second Hour Due: Tuesdays by 10:00 a.m
  • Monthly Newsletter Due: 3rd Friday of the Month
  • Articles received after the deadline will be published in the following week or month’s publication.

Submissions Will Run for Two Consecutive Weeks

  • If you request additional weeks, note the desired timeframe in your request. 
  • “Thank You’s” or articles that do not include an event or fundraiser will run for 1 week.

Indicate where you would like this article or announcement to appear:

  • Weekly Update
  • Monthly Newsletter
  • Sunday Announcement
  • Social Media (Facebook, Instagram…)
  • Community Outreach (Nextdoor, Community Newsletters, Bulletin Boards…

Author / Timeframe

  • Author or Committee name
  • Please make sure the date and time are noted within the body of your text.

Word Count:

  • Up to 50 words for a social media post
  • 100 words for the Weekly Update
  • 175 words for a half-page article in the newsletter
  • 375 words for a full-page article in the newsletter

Pictures/Images 

  • Please attach images/photos to be included in JPG format.

Zoom

  • If your article or announcement requires an LCC Zoom link, please include a request for a link, and it will be added to the article.
  • If you are not using an LCC Zoom account, please provide the Zoom Meeting ID & password.

Second Hour Meetings: after worship on Sundays

  • Second Hour- Zoom & In-person in the Sanctuary Starting at 10:40 a.m. after a short break, using the Zoom link from worship. Please check with Rover to use the sanctuary sound system or make arrangements with him to learn the process beforehand.
  • Second Hour- Zoom & In-person in another room Starting on or after 11:00 a.m. requires a different Zoom link than the Sunday service’s link.
