I’m New!
Welcome!
We are so happy you found us. Ladera Community Church is an Open and Affirming congregation of the United Church of Christ. No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, you’re welcome here. We look forward to meeting you!
Look Deeper. Quiet the Noise. Find Connection. Make a Difference.
We strive to be a safe place where you can go deeper and explore the sometimes difficult questions; where you can find peace and respite from the busy world; where you can be in a loving community and meet God through our relationships with one another; where you can make the world and community we live in a better place. To learn more about how we do these things, and how you can get involved, check out our events page and see what resonates for you. Or, reach out to us. We’d love to show you around and introduce you to members of our community.
EventsWorship
Sunday worship begins at 9:30 a.m. in the sanctuary and online on Zoom and Facebook. Worship is a joyful celebration of God’s presence among us. Through song and silence, prayer and reflection, we find inspiration, renewal, and refreshment. All ages are welcome, and we seek to integrate the arts – music, drama, and visual arts – to enrich the worship experience. Worship continues in the ways we seek, serve, and grow in the world. While some people dress up, others wear jeans and a t-shirt. Please wear what’s comfortable for you.
May I worship with my family?
Kids of all ages are welcome to join parents in the sanctuary. We have activity packs for children who wish to explore their faith while remaining in the service.
Just off the sanctuary is an area for nursing mothers, with plenty of space for ambitious crawlers and wandering toddlers, where caregivers can watch or listen to the worship service.
Our community celebrates Communion on the first Sunday of each month. Children and youth are welcome and encouraged to participate, reflecting the diversity and fullness of our faith.
What can I do after worship?
You are invited to join us following worship for coffee and conversation on the patio or in our social hall and to participate in any activities that might be happening that morning. 2nd Hour programs (after worship on various Sundays) explore topics of spiritual growth and exploration, current events and issues, and host various community speakers. Childcare is provided upon request.
Getting to Ladera
How do we get there? And where do we go once we are there?
From I-280, exit Alpine Road and head southwest (toward the hills) for 1/2 mile. The church is on the right, immediately after the medical offices. Parking is available in the lot with the Ladera Community Church sign.
Once you have arrived you can head to the Sanctuary, the large A-frame building tucked back in the redwood trees.
Connecting
Can I speak with someone to learn more about your church?
Yes! You are welcome to call, email, or schedule time to meet with us in person. We’d love to speak with you and answer any questions you may have.
